The Giants scored three runs in the first inning, five in the third, and added one more in the sixth to jump to a 9-0 lead. The Nationals scored three runs in the seventh and one in the ninth. San Francisco tacked on one more run in the eighth inning to give them 10.
Brandon Crawford Was on Fire
Brandon Crawford went 3 for 3 with a home run; it was his 18th home run on the season. Also, Crawford drove in three runs and scored three runs. In addition, Crawford upped his batting average to .282. The shortstop leads the Giants in home runs and RBIs.
Joey Bart and Thairo Estrada Played Well
Joey Bart was called up recently, and he is one of the Giants’ top prospects. On Saturday, Bart went 2 for 5 with one RBI and one run scored. Last year when playing for Giants, Bart struggled in the Majors, now he will need to play better with Buster Posey being on the IL.
Thairo Estrada is another player that was recently called up, and against the Nationals, he went 4 for, with three RBIs; Estrada is now batting .360 on the season. The utility player has been a massive lift for the Giants, who have battled many injuries.
