The Miami Dolphins have signed former Seattle Seahawks Linebacker Shaquem Griffin to a 1 year deal, per Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Griffin last participated in the Broncos minicamp, accepting an invitation he received this offseason. Though a deal with Denver never got done.
An inspiring story, Griffin has played in 46 games over 3 seasons while only having 1 hand, losing the other to a birth defect.
Griffin showed impressive athleticism, as he ran his 40 yard dash in 4.38 seconds back in 2018, finding a way to catch the eyes of NFL front offices, even with his disadvantage.
Since being drafted by the Seahawks, Griffin has amassed 25 combined tackles and 6 QB hits, and has inspired millions who look to overcome obstacles and accomplish their dreams.
Griffin will look to bring his speed and athleticism to a defense that ranked 4th in scoring in 2020, combining for 29 turnovers over the course of 16 games.
Shaquem Griffin’s inspiring story of adversity and success will continue, as he has found a new home in South Florida.
While Griffin will have to battle it out in camp in hopes of making the 53 man, a special teams ace and a sub-LB in different packages could be Griffin’s calling as a Miami Dolphin.
