Way to Early Miami Dolphins 3rd round Mock Draft

Even though training camp starts soon, it’s never too early for the 3rd Edition of my Way to Early Mock Draft.

With the Beginning of training camp and other news coming out , it is never too early for the 3rd Edition of my Way to Early Mock Draft.

Currently, Miami has Bernardrick McKinney as it’s Middle Linebacker; however, McKinney does not look like a long term solution for the Dolphins, even though he has 3 years left on his contract

Miami owns San Francisco’s 3rd down pick and sent their own third-round selection to the Giants to move up from 50th overall in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft to 42nd to take tackle Liam Eichenberg.

With the 3rd round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft the Miami Dolphins select Indiana Hoosiers ILB Micah McFadden. McFadden is listed as a 6-foot-2, 235-pound middle linebacker and exploded onto the scene manning the Middle for the 25th ranked Hoosiers.

Mcfadden can do it all, Brian Flores wants versatile players. You want a guy who can create turnovers? look no further than his game against Rutgers. You want a guy who can make a bunch of tackles? He had 11 in a shocking season opening win against Penn St. Need a blitzer when a team isnt expecting it? He had two sacks against Michigan State. You have to stuff the run in crunch time? Mcfadden and the LB core only gave up 13 yards on 18 carries against Michigan.

He can do it all.

“Micah literally checks off every single box when it comes to making the perfect middle linebacker,” Weiner said. “He’s got great speed, but he’ll also blow you up every chance he gets. He’s instinctively smart on the field, but he’s also a very smart kid off the field. The mental side of that position, being the leader on the defense, fits him perfectly.”

Robert Weiner, McFadden’s former coach at Plant who is now an assistant coach at the University of Toledo

As a true freshman, His coaches admitted to throwing him on the field, let him run around and make plays without a true understanding of the defense.

As the Captain of the Hoosiers, McFadden has done nothing but improve. He is not a liability anywhere but could stand to improve in pass coverage.

I spoke to fellow ATB colleague Jake Stilwell who covers the Indiana Hoosiers who speaks Highly of McFadden.

“As far as McFadden goes, he’s a phenomenal blitzer who can be an off ball backer too. He may not be athletically gifted as he is not the best at pass coverage. He has good instincts and his best skill is his blitzing ability. So he’s perfect for a team that uses their backers as a pass rush option.”

Jake Stilwell on Micah McFadden

Of course it is still too early to project where McFadden and every other college player may go in the NFL Draft as another season has to be played before the 2022 NFL Draft kicks off.

With the aformentioned on Micah McFadden stated, he seems like a fit in Brian Flores’ system and could play well given he improves his pass coverage keeps improving

He’s consistently gotten better over the years, Micah McFadden is one to watch out for.
