I know I know, it’s only been the second day of actual training camp. But, you can’t deny that Albert Wilson has taken the 2021 training camp out to the woodshed. You know the place where all the beatings happen. I realize all the buzz is around Tua’s minute by minute development and Xavien Howard f̶a̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ suffering a minor injury but Wilson is one of the leading stories right now.
That was from yesterday when Tua dropped an absolute dime to Wilson for about 60ish yards.
Albert Wilson decided to put on an encore.
Now I must say, I didn’t expect all of this. I said before camp started that Albert Wilson would eventually be a guy that gets cut. That still can happen but if Wilson and Tua have this kind of organic chemistry then there I see no way that Wilson gets the axe.
Yesterday, Wilson said “I’m completely healthy. I feel like I can do anything. I’m back to normal.” You can’t really argue with any of that bases off how he has performed so far. The guy is moving at his 2018 and end of 2019 pace. You remember that version of Albert Wilson? Let me remind you.
If today’s Albert Wilson, who I’m not ruling out being a variant from another reality, can return to anything like that 2018 Albert Wilson, then the Dolphins have a guy that can do serious damage. Also, we might really need Wilson due to the reliably unreliable receivers of Parker, Williams and Fuller all not being able to practice due to minor injuries right now.
Albert Wilson is only 29 years old but he did opt out last year. This means he has a a lot of tread left on the tires and that he’s ready to show everyone that he still an excellent player. Looking forward to see the highlights from today but either way I’m excited that Miami might have a guy stepping up that dummies like myself had written off.
By the Way- I realize it’s only the second day of camp and that I should calm down. My response to that is that you should calm down.
