The Thunder suffered their first Summer League defeat at the hands of the Pelicans on Wednesday night, but even in defeat some positives can be taken from the action.
Aaron Wiggins continued to impress, he led all Thunder scorers with 16 pts on 7-16 shooting. He also grabbed 5 boards and was a headache on defense coming up with 2 steals. Oscar Da Silva had a very impressive showing as well, putting up 11 points on 4-5 from the field and 2-2 from three to go along with 5 rebounds.l . Da Silva has the size that the Thunder need, and would be a welcomed addition to the regular season roster. Tre Mann struggled getting shots to fall, going 4-15 from the field, but he showed promise with a shifty handle and finished some tough shots around the basket. If he can do that consistently along with knocking down the long ball he should be just fine. Theo Maledon struggled pretty much all around as well. The other fan favorite Jeremiah Robinson Earl put together a 8 pt, 4 rebound, 2 assist, 2 steals, and 1 block night as well. He continued to always be at the right place at the right time, and made the right decisions.
As a whole the Thunder struggled on offense, going 33% from the field and 24% from three as a team, and turned the ball over 14 times. While the three point shooting did improve from Sunday by 11% , the overall % dropped by 3% and they turned the ball over an extra 4 times.
Catch the Thunder again Friday night against the Warriors at 7PM.
