After watching Kirk Cousins get sacked by Larry Ogunjobi and BJ Hill (twice). And seeing Chandler Jones and AZ’s pass rush go off for 6 sacks in Week 1. If I was Minnesota’s new OC Klint Kubiak (son of Gary Kubiak), I would order a heavy dose of Dalvin Cook and dial-up the quick passing game in Week 2 vs AZ.
Stopping the run again will be key. Expect to see a lot of formations similar to last week in an effort to slow Derrick Henry. Stopping elite RBs two weeks in a row is easier said than done, but if AZ can hold Dalvin in check early and the offense can again take advantage of favorable WR-CB matchups, this game could also get lopsided.
Minnesota will need a good gameplan to hold Arizona’s pass rush in check. The Edges and LBs are going to have to be more wary. Vikings love screens and today should be no different. If AZ’s pass rushers try to pin their ears back every 3rd down to get another 6 sack performance Minnesota will likely make Arizona pay. But with vets in the front 7 like Peters, Jones, Golden, Hicks and Watt I’d bet Vance Joseph’s defense will be ready.
